Portland Art Museum Set to Unveil $111 Million Expansion in Late 2025
The Portland Art Museum is close to reaching its fundraising goal to enhance its endowment, upgrade its facilities, and construct a new pavilion connecting existing structures by late 2025. The museum has raised 86.5% of its $141m target, with plans for a 24,000-sq.-ft Mark Rothko Pavilion designed by Vinci Hamp and Hennebery Eddy Architects. This expansion will provide 95,000 sq. ft of new exhibition space and a new gallery for contemporary art. The project has received substantial support from donors, with 98% of funding coming from private sources. This development is a testament to the importance of arts in the city of Portland.
