[ad_1]

The third edition of Frieze Seoul saw moderate sales due to the economic slowdown in South Korea. The fair featured 117 galleries alongside the partner fair Kiaf, which welcomed 207 exhibitors. Seoul Art Week and Korea Art Festival added energy to the events. Despite slower sales, there was a positive atmosphere with strong interest in works by Korean artists. Thaddaeus Ropac announced its representation of Lee Kang-So, while GDM from Hong Kong made sales at the Masters section. Pace sold a small-scale polished bronze sculpture by Robert Indiana and other artworks, and Gladstone had success with Anicka Yi’s sculptures and paintings. Peres Projects had brisk business at Kiaf, selling works by various artists. The art week bridged the gap between traditional painting-heavy market and avant-garde art scene. Frieze Seoul showcased a diverse range of artworks, including installation, video, and photography works. SAC Gallery from Bangkok received inquiries and contacts for their project at the Focus Asia sector.
