Academy Museum to Modify Exhibition on Hollywood’s Jewish Founders

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles is making changes to its exhibition about the Jewish film-makers and businessmen who helped shape Hollywood’s studio system in response to criticism. The new exhibition, titled “Hollywoodland: Jewish Founders and the Making of a Movie Capital,” has faced backlash for its portrayal of key figures in unflattering terms. Following concerns raised by a group of Jewish activists, the museum has pledged to address these issues and make necessary modifications to the exhibition. The goal is to tell a more inclusive and diverse story of the history of film and the movie industry, while also acknowledging some of the darker chapters in that history.
