British Museum seeks ‘visionary’ design team for space transformation project
The British Museum is seeking an architectural practice to redesign approximately a third of its galleries as part of a major masterplan. The winning team will need to create a modern visitor experience while respecting the historic building. The project includes a new storage facility, an Energy Centre to reduce carbon emissions, and controversial funding from BP. The full masterplan is expected to cost hundreds of millions of pounds.
