Controversy Erupts Over Artist’s Climate Change Sculpture Near Salisbury Cathedral

Artist Hilary Jack’s sculpture, “Seaview,” depicting a Norfolk house sliding into the sea, is drawing attention to the issue of climate change. The 10-foot-high structure is on display at Salisbury Cathedral as part of the “Our Earth” exhibition. Despite facing criticism from locals, Jack hopes the artwork will spark conversations about the urgent need for action on climate breakdown. The sculpture highlights the impact of rising sea levels and coastal erosion on the Norfolk coastline, where thousands of properties are at risk of being lost to the sea by 2100. Jack’s work aims to raise awareness about the environmental challenges we face and inspire action to address them.
