Expo Chicago, one of the significant US art fairs, is gearing up for its eleventh edition under the ownership of London-based expo and media company Frieze. The upcoming edition, taking place from April 11 to April 14 at Chicago’s Navy Pier, will feature around 170 commercial galleries, along with projects and presentations by over two dozen non-profits and institutions. Frieze is working closely with Expo Chicago to enhance the experience for both visitors and exhibitors, showcasing an array of top-tier galleries and a strong representation of Chicagoan galleries. Despite the absence of some global mega-galleries, the fair will host a variety of established and emerging galleries from around the world. Latin American galleries will also have a notable presence at the fair this year. Additionally, Expo Chicago will award $100,000 in prizes for acquisitions of works from the fair. Frieze’s acquisition of Expo Chicago and The Armory Show in New York has set the stage for an exciting future for both fairs.
