The Morgan Library & Museum in New York has received two generous gifts totaling $15m to celebrate its centennial. Trustee Katharine J. Rayner pledged $10m, earning the museum’s directorship in her name for 25 years, while the Jerome L. Greene Foundation donated $5m for future exhibitions. The museum’s Centennial Campaign aims to raise $35m for its endowment and $15m for critical facilities and technology needs. The Morgan, established in 1924 by J.P. Morgan, houses a remarkable collection of illuminated manuscripts, prints, rare books, and Old Master paintings. Special exhibitions and events are planned throughout the year to commemorate its centennial, including one dedicated to its inaugural director, Belle da Costa Greene.
