Tate’s Indigenous Art Fund Explores Venice Biennale Theme
Tate launches new fund to increase representation of Indigenous works in collection. The move reflects global trend toward Indigenous art and heritage. AKO Foundation commits to funding Sámi and Inuit art acquisitions for Tate. Outi Pieski’s works now part of Tate collection, marking first time Sámi artist included. Tate plans to research, collect, and display art from other Indigenous communities. Kimberley Moulton appointed adjunct curator for First Nations and Indigenous art at Tate.
