The Rubin Museum’s Final Show in New York Space Features The Himalayas in Manhattan

The Rubin Museum’s latest exhibition showcases 32 contemporary artists whose works are inspired by pieces from the museum’s permanent collection. Featured artists include Bidhata KC and John Tsung, among others, who offer unique interpretations of traditional Tibetan art. Curated by Michelle Bennett Simorella, Tsewang Lhamo, and Roshan Mishra, this exhibition breathes new life into the museum as it marks its 20th anniversary. Mishra’s advocacy for cultural restitution is also highlighted in this show, which aims to elevate contemporary artists from the Himalayan region. One standout piece is Asha Kama Wangdi’s installation, “The Windhorse,” which symbolizes hope and wellbeing. This exhibition, titled “Reimagine: Himalayan Art Now,” is a testament to the vibrant creativity and cultural richness of the region.
