Vivian Maier, the late French American photographer, will have her first major exhibition in New York next year at Fotografiska. The exhibition will focus on the “New York dimension” of her work, showcasing around 200 pieces that highlight Maier’s unique visual language. Maier, known for her street scenes and architecture photographs, took over 150,000 images in her lifetime. The exhibition will include a variety of works from the Maloof collection, ranging from the 1950s to the mid-1980s, as well as personal items belonging to Maier. Maier’s work, discovered posthumously, has captivated the public with its distinct perspective and talent. The exhibition aims to shed light on Maier’s extraordinary vision and will be on display from May to September 2024 at Fotografiska New York.
