The most valuable lots included two paintings by Jean-Michel Basquiat, with “Untitled (ELMAR)” fetching $40.2m. Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa set a record with a Basquiat painting selling for $85m. The sale also saw strong results for works by younger artists, reflecting a stable and sustainable market.
