Connecting Cultural Heritage to Identity: How We Remember Our Roots
Hong Kong is kicking off its art season with the city’s first international cultural summit, hosted by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. The summit aims to showcase Hong Kong as a vibrant art hub and features panel discussions at M+, Hong Kong Palace Museum, and Xiqu Centre. With the theme “Connecting Cultures, Bridging Times,” the summit brings together over 1,000 participants from around the world, including officials from renowned cultural institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and Centre Pompidou. Discussions cover topics like artificial intelligence, community-building through art hubs, and the future of global cultural institutions. The summit also emphasizes the importance of technology in the arts, with panels like “Decentring Digital” exploring museums’ role in adapting to digital transformations. This event highlights the diverse perspectives necessary for the growth and evolution of cultural institutions. Collaborative agreements signed at the summit pave the way for exciting future projects, such as exhibitions and film libraries, strengthening Hong Kong’s position as a cultural powerhouse in Asia.
