Dallas Art Fair Growth Mirrors City’s Thriving Art Scene
When it comes to the art market in Dallas, there’s a unique pace that sets it apart from other cities. Buyers in Dallas prefer to take their time, do research, and really consider their purchases. This slower approach contrasts with the fast-paced deals often seen in coastal cities like Los Angeles.
Despite this slower pace, Dallas is far from a sleepy market. The upcoming Dallas Art Fair will feature 91 galleries this year, showcasing the city’s growing importance in the art world. Local galleries like Erin Cluley Gallery and Galleri Urbane will be returning, alongside new participants such as Tureen and Pencil on Paper.
Additionally, the Dallas Invitational, launched last year, is gaining momentum and will run concurrently with the Dallas Art Fair. This dual fair setup speaks to the increasing interest in Dallas as an art hub. Art advisor Adam Green notes the growing collector base in the city, making it an attractive destination for galleries looking to connect with clients.
The Dallas fairs coincide with the Great American Eclipse, adding an extra layer of excitement to the art events in the city. Local dealers hope that the influx of visitors for the eclipse will translate into more foot traffic for the art fairs, further boosting the city’s art scene.
