Sotheby’s Announces Senior Staff Changes in Asia and Europe
Sotheby’s has announced several senior level promotions and title changes in Europe and Asia. Elaine Holt has been appointed as the chair of Modern and contemporary art and deputy chair of Sotheby’s Asia, effective July. Holt, a prominent figure in the Asian art world, will lead the team as Sotheby’s Asia prepares to open its new headquarters in Central Hong Kong. She will be joined by new senior contemporary art specialists, Joseph Yang and Boris Cornelissen. The changes come as Sotheby’s navigates a challenging market climate in Asia. Previous leaders Alex Branczik and Max Moore will transition to roles in Europe and New York, respectively. The auction house is also preparing for staff redundancies in various locations.
