Fotografiska Photography Museum’s New York Branch to Close and Relocate

Fotografiska, the global network of photography museums, is closing its Park Avenue location in Manhattan on 29 September as it prepares to move to a larger space in New York. The museum opened in New York in 2019 at the historic Church Missions House. The final exhibitions at the current space, featuring Vivian Maier and Bruce Gilden, will be on view until the closure. The popular bar and restaurant will close in mid-June.

The museum’s dedication to showcasing great artists remains unwavering as it plans to hold an exhibition on New York nightlife photography at a temporary location. The current space is owned by real-estate tycoon Aby Rosen’s company, RFR Holding, which put it up for sale for $135m, a significant increase from the purchase price in 2014.
