Despite the funding cuts, Ikon remains committed to staying open and accessible to all. The current exhibition at the gallery features the works of British-Jamaican artist Exodus Crooks. Birmingham City Council’s budget report outlines plans to cease funding for cultural projects in an effort to save money. The council’s decision comes after financial challenges including a significant equal pay claim liability and overspending on an IT system.
